What brought them together?
Anna Watkins, Neus Gil Cortés and Salah El Brogy are three mature dance artists which, after having danced for some of the best companies in UK: Akram Khan, Hofesh Shechter and Tavaziva Dance, amongst others, decided to join efforts to create a triple bill as a pop up collective.
About a year and a half ago, they started having conversations to gather thoughts on how to bring the project to life. They looked forward to share networks, gather support and benefit from each other's knowledge and experience. DanceEast offered them a residency and that's how it all started. The project is supported by Arts Council England, East London Dance Ideas Enterprise Fund, DanceEast, South East Dance and The Garage. A unique eveningOrganic Entity is a self-curated evening of work of the highest quality, informed by scientific research.
The three pieces explore the themes of Body, Mind and Transcendence. The choreographers put together workshops to share their choreographic processes to attendees and organised a conference at the University of Cambridge to expand on the topics they are exploring with the experts they are working with.
